It’s not in the email section, it’s in the account section. Discovered completely on accident going through all the settings though the online account. Wait a day thinking slowboat tech often takes time to trickle down and nothing. Go to AOL online thinking it’s a password thing so change the password several times and it still doesn’t work. Would have been nice to get an announcement or anything instead of going to check your email for one you are waiting for on your phone, then go to two other devices and still not working. Just thought this might be helpful for others as for me I use outlook on my IPhone, Microsoft surface and desktop and every one of them need a different password generated by AOL. They are saved there or you can C&P to notepad and hide it or whatever but you have to use their generated passwords and its different for every device. If you use third party apps to sync up IMAP or POP accounts you have to go and generate a password for every device. You have to repeat this for every device.īottom line is your old password won’t work except to log into AOL online. Make a selection and generate a password then copy and paste. Then there’s a drop down for Outlook on PC, Outlook on iOS, iOS, android etc. Navigation to personal info by click on your name. Seems now for every device you have to get a different password from AOL online. Well with no warning or announcements they changed policies and I’ve had to spend the last few days having to use AOL online for email. Kept same Verizon address but had to set up everything for IMAP on every device I use for email. I was using Verizon but then they sold off the email to AOL. Don’t know if this is the right place or not but thought I would post it up anyhow for anyone else using AOL Mail.
